Michael J. HintonFounder of the firm, Michael Hinton has honed his legal skills through more than 30 years of prosecuting and defending all types of criminal cases. While a prosecutor, he helped formulate and enact the modern Texas Penal Code.
A 1967 graduate of The University of Texas School of Law, Hinton was a prosecutor for nearly twelve years before entering private practice. While Executive Assistant District Attorney for Harris County, he prosecuted many of Houston's most celebrated cases, including the Ronald Clark O'Bryan Halloween candy case and the Crocker radiation/mutilation case. He was a charter member of the Harris County DA's Special Crimes Bureau and Chief of the Office's Organized Crime Division.
As a defense attorney, Hinton has litigated all manner of bank fraud, RICO and other white collar crime cases throughout the country. He has also represented numerous law enforcement officers and professionals from grand jury investigation through trial. In addition, Hinton has been appointed Special Prosecutor on several occasions throughout the state of Texas. He frequently represents corporations and professional organizations under governmental scrutiny for various state and federal violations.
